The Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival is a three-year tourism project organised by the Tourism Commission, supported by the Hong Kong Geopark and curated by One Bite Design Studio. The Arts Festival aims to bring a diversified tourism offerings by enriching local and non-local visitors’ experience and blending the rich history, local culture, heritage and natural environment of the Sai Kung Hoi with Hong Kong’s creativity and arts atmosphere. The first event of the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival was held on 16 November 2022 – 15 January 2023 on Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island. A total of 9 artworks were designed and installed on the two islands under the curatorial theme of “Joy Again, Isle”.

The Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival 2023 is scheduled to be held by the end of 2023 tentatively. Apart from Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island, the Arts Festival will be extended to Kau Sai Chau and High Island. We are now inviting Hong Kong based creative talents including designers, architects and artists, etc. to create public artworks for the two locations on Kau Sai Chau and High Island. The selected proposals will be developed and the artworks will be publicly displayed at Kau Sai Chau and High Island during this year’s Arts Festival period.

The review of open call for proposals has been completed. We have notified all participants of the results via email, and contacted the selected participants to follow-up on the implementation. We will be introducing this year’s artists and their artworks soon. Stay tuned for updates.
