Visitors may pre-book kaito tickets online. Tickets sold online are on a first-come-first-served basis with limited quotas. Route A’s tickets (to Yim Tin Tsai & Sharp Island) are Arts Festival exclusive services, while route B’s tickets (to Kau Sai Village & High Island) are sold at discounted price for getting on the public ferry services operated by Tsui Wah Ferry Service.

When making the booking, visitors may select the departure time from Sai Kung to the islands. For the island hopping trip and returning trip to Sai Kung, visitors may refer to the kaito schedules and queue at the respective pier in advance to board the kaito.

On the day of visit, visitors should pick up the physical tickets at the Arts Festival Information Kiosk at the Sai Kung Promenade well before the departure time. After getting the tickets, route A passengers will be guided by the staff to board the kaito; while route B passengers should go to Sai Kung Public Pier to queue for boarding the kaito on their own.

Visitors should keep their physical tickets properly until the end of all sectors (maximum 3). Visitors must present a valid ticket for each sector when boarding.
During the Arts Festival, there will be Island Hopping Kaito everyday between Sai Kung Town, Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island at $100 per ticket, which includes three trips. This year, this route will also include Hap Mun Bay (Half Moon Bay) Pier.
Note:
– Except during the circumstances that the Festival is closed or kaito services are suspended, tickets for the Island Hopping kaito Experience are non-changeable and non-refundable
– The online discounted tickets are open for sales until 18:00 the day before the departing day
– For Route A, tickets are available on-site if the kaitos are not full.
The public kaito services from Sai Kung Town to Kau Sai Village and High Island are operated by Tsui Wah Ferry Service. For details of the services, you may visit Tsui Wah Ferry Service’s website.
To support the operation of the Arts Festival, during the Arts Festival period (i.e. from 15 November 2023 to 14 January 2024), there will be additional services – Island Hopping Kaito every Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays between Sai Kung Town, Kau Sai Village and High Island. The fare is $65 single trip (Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities applies).
Tickets Purchase
During the Arts Festival period, an online booking discount is available for purchasing from our website. The ticket will be $160 for 3 trips (original price is $195). The online discounted tickets are open for sales until 18:00 the day before the departing day.
For visitors who have not pre-booked kaito tickets online, they may go to the Sai Kung Public Pier to queue for boarding the kaito on the day of visit and pay using octopus card or cash (no change) for each trip ($65).
Route B’s capacity is filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Holders of pre-booked route B discounted kaito tickets are not guaranteed for getting onto the kaito at the selected time if the kaito is full, but need to queue with other passengers for boarding the kaito.
Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities ($2 Scheme)
The public kaito services between Sai Kung and Kau Sai Village/High Island offer concessionary transport fares. Elderly and eligible persons with disabilities can travel to Kau Sai Village/High Island at a concessionary fare of $2 per trip, and hence not required to purchase Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets in advance.
Hong Kong residents aged 60-64 must use a JoyYou Card to benefit from the $2 Scheme; persons aged 65 or above may continue to use Anonymous Elder Octopus or Personalised Octopus to enjoy the concession at present; eligible persons with disabilities may continue to use valid Personalised Octopus with “Persons with Disabilities Status” to enjoy the $2 concessionary fare. Redemption of Physical Kaito Tickets and Queuing for Boarding
Visitors who pre-booked route B’s discounted kaito tickets may attend the Information Kiosk at Sai Kung Promenade on the day of visit, from 8:45am to redeem the physical kaito tickets using the e-tickets’ qr codes. To board the kaito, visitors need to present the physical kaito tickets to the operator. Public kaito seats are filled on a first-come-first basis. It is highly recommended that passengers should go to the pier to queue up for boarding as early as possible after redemption of the physical kaito tickets.
Note: Pre-booked discounted kaito tickets for Route B do NOT guarantee a seat for the selected public kaito service. Passengers are required to queue with other passengers during the day of visit.
Other Points to Note:
– This island hopping route is available every Tuesday to Friday and public holidays during the Festival Period. – The berthing pier at different locations: Sai Kung Town – Sai Kung Public Pier (Long Pier); Kau Sai Village – Kau Sai Village Pier; High Island – Leung Shuen Wan Pier (Tin Hau Temple) – Depending on the kaito operator’s arrangement, some trips will also berth at High Island Pak A Pier (Pak A Village). – Except during the circumstances that the Festival is closed or kaito services are suspended, tickets for the Island Hopping kaito Experience are non-refundable. – Online reservations for the Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets close at 6pm the day before departure. Ticket purchase at discounted price ($160/3 trips) for the Route B tickets is not available for sales on site.

The online registration will be open from 2 Nov (Wed) 10am on a fortnightly basis, for the coming 2-4 weeks upon the system’s update. The registration schedule is as follows:

*Public may register for the programmes and guided tours that are still available for booking from the previous period. Quotas are limited and registration is open on a first-come-first-served basis. For programmes/guided tours that are already full, a waiting list with 20 quotas is available for signing up. If any successful registrants withdraw from the event, notification will be sent to registrants on the waiting list in their order of registration. They will need to confirm the registration within 24 hours upon receipt of the notification to get the place.
