Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival is a three-year arts project organised by the Tourism Commission, supported by the Hong Kong Geopark and curated by One Bite Design Studio. The Festival covers Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau (Kau Sai Village), High Island and Sai Kung Town. Through art, the Festival provides visitors with an opportunity to appreciate the rich natural resources and the long and deep history as well as culture of the four isles. It also turns Sai Kung Hoi into an open museum.

There are a number of free programmes and guided tours to be held during the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival, most of which require pre-registration online on a first-come-first-served basis. This year, we also open up some regular guided tours and programmes for on site registration to provide more flexibility for visitors to participate. For more details, please refer to individual programme pages (click here to view all the programmes and guided tours).
Online registration will start from 6 Nov (Wed) and update every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., for programmes and Island Hopping Kaito Experience Tickets to be held on the following Monday to Sunday. The registration schedule is as follows:

1. Online registration for programmes and guided tours does not include kaito tickets. Visitors are required to arrange their own transport to the islands (click here for more information on transportation guide)

Before registering for programmes and guided tours, please check the kaito and programmes/ guided tours schedules to plan ahead (including the travelling time), or refer to the “suggested kaito schedules” on the programme’s page for reference. If you wish to register for more than one programmes on the same day, please take into consideration the transportation and travelling time to ensure that you will be able to participate in both events before registration
3. Online registration for the programmes and guided tours is on a first-come-first-served basis while quotas last
4. In case a participant is unable to attend the event after registration, the participant should cancel the registration via the online registration platform. Otherwise, the participant may be forbidden to participate in any other future events in the Festival
5. If there are spare quotas on the day of the event, visitors may sign up for the event on site at the Information Kiosk
Free Regular Guided Tours (Prior Group Booking)
Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival allows groups to make priority booking for regular guided tours. Online booking for regular guided tours for four islands from 19 November 2024 to 12 January 2025 will be available from 15 October 2024 (Fri) to 31 October 2024 (Thu) at 6:00 p.m. Interested groups can select the language, date, time and theme of the regular guided tours and submit their applications via the online form during the booking period. We will reply within 7-10 working days upon receipt of the application.
The organiser reserves the right to accept or reject any application, and may review the group visit guidelines subject to the festival’s operations. Visiting groups who are unsuccessful in registering for the regular guided tours via group prior booking are welcome to purchase island hopping kaito tickets from our website and visit the arts festival on their own.

Notes:
1. This group booking does not include kaito tickets. Registered groups will need to arrange their own transportation to the islands to join the regular guided tours
2. Registered groups shall arrive at the meet-up point at least 15 minutes earlier to ensure timely start of the regular guided tour. The organiser reserves the right to reject late comers to join the registered regular guided tour and will make suitable arrangements based on the condition on site
Group Visits
Apart from the regular guided tours, other programmes and island-hopping tours are not available for public group registration. Interested groups may make their own arrangements by referring to the suggested routes on the website. During the Festival, Festival Ambassadors will be on duty at the artwork locations to assist visitors in viewing the artworks and make other introductions. For larger groups, you may consider hiring other Sai Kung kaito, which may be more flexible in terms of time and itinerary.
Visitors need to take public transportation to Sai Kung town, then purchase kaito tickets at Sai Kung Pier to get to Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau (Kau Sai Village) and High Island and take kaito to the islands. Alternatively, visitors may pre-purchase Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets online and redeem tickets at the Arts Festival Information Kiosk located at Sai Kung Pier on the day of visit and take kaito to the islands with assistance by the Festival ambassadors.

Visitors can take public transportation to Sai Kung town. The following routes are for reference only. Please contact the bus/minibus companies for more details. For more public transport information, please visit the Transport Department website.
Access to Yim Tin Tsai/Sharp Island
The kaito ferries travelling to Yim Tin Tsai/Sharp Island are operated by different kaito operators. Visitors may go to the operators’ counters located along the Sai Kung Pier to purchase kaito tickets on-site (usually round-trip tickets will be sold).
During the Festival period, visitors can pre-purchase the Festival exclusive Island Hopping Kaito Experience (Route A) tickets on the Festival website (click here for more information on Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets).
Access to Kau Sai Chau(Kau Sai Village)/High Island
The kaito ferries travelling to Kau Sai Chau (Kau Sai Village)/High Island are operated by Tsui Wah Ferry. Those are the regular kaito ferry services licensed by the Transport Department. The single-trip fare is HK$65 (adult or children) and HK$2 for elderly using JoyYou Card and eligible persons with disabilities. Visitors may pay the fare by using octopus card or cash (no change) when boarding the ferry.
During the Festival period, visitors can pre-purchase the Festival Exclusive Island Hopping Kaito Experience (Route B) tickets at a discounted price on our website, which will include 3 single trips (click here for more information on Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets).
To enhance visitor experience through the special and unique island hopping journey in Hong Kong, there will be island hopping kaito during the Festival period

Preparations before your visit
– Most of the artworks of Festival are located outdoors, so comfortable sports shoes and clothing are recommended
– Bring a sun cap, a towel, an umbrella and a windbreaker to prepare for weather changes
– Bring enough food and drinks as appropriate, and leave no trace
– Choose a hiking trail that suits the ability of your fellow hikers
During your visit
– Please keep your voice down when visiting the Festival
– Please do not trespass on any private property and avoid causing nuisance to the locals
– To protect the natural environment, please do not pick plants or disturb wildlife
– Please keep the environment clean and leave no trace
– Please cherish the artworks and do not damage them
– If you have any questions, please approach our Festival Ambassadors on duty for assistance
When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above/ Red or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted, pre-warning thereof, island hopping kaito services will be suspended, all programmes and guided tours will be cancelled
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above/ Red or Black Rainstorm Signal are lowered at or before 8:00am, island hopping kaito services will carry on as usual, all programmes and guided tours will be held as scheduled
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above/ Red or Black Rainstorm Signal are lowered between 8:01am-10:00am, island hopping kaito services will resume in 2 hours after the signal is lowered. All morning programmes and guided tours will be cancelled and events after 12nn will be held as scheduled
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above, and Red or Black Rainstorm Signal are lowered after 10:01, that day’s island hopping kaito services, all programmes and guided tours will be cancelled
If kaito services are suspended under inclement weather conditions, latest arrangement of the Festival will be announced via our social media platforms and website. Visitors who have purchased Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets will be notified by email about the rescheduling or refund of tickets arrangement.
The online registration will be open from 2 Nov (Wed) 10am on a fortnightly basis, for the coming 2-4 weeks upon the system’s update. The registration schedule is as follows:
