There are 8 artworks and 3 artworks displayed at Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island respectively in the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival 2023. You can take the island hopping kaito to visit both islands in one day.

Suggested Route
  1. Sai Kung to Yim Tin Tsai (around 20 minutes kaito ride) - may take the island hopping kaito departing Sai Kung during 10:15 - 14:15, operating every hour
  2. Visit Yim Tin Tsai, view the artworks and attractions (2 hours)
  3. Yim Tin Tsai to Sharp Island (around 15 minutes kaito ride) - may take the island hopping kaito departing Yim Tin Tsai to Sharp Island during 11:35 - 15:35, operating every hour
  4. Visit Sharp Island, cross the tombolo at low tide, walk a small part of Sharp Island Country Trail (1-1.5 hours)
  5. Sharp Island back to Sai Kung (around 20 minutes kaito ride)
  6. Back to Sai Kung to visit the artwork located at Sai Kung Waterfront Park (15 minutes)

Time required: around 4-4.5 hours

You may also choose to visit Sharp Island first and island hop to Yim Tin Tsai afterwards. If so, you may take the island hopping kaito departing Sai Kung at 09:45-13:45, operating every hour, to Sharp Island first.

Remarks:

– The tombolo at Sharp Island is only accessible when the tidal level is lower than 1.4 meter. Don’t forget to check on the day tidal levels before crossing the tombolo, observe the safety guidelines and pay attention to the return time. – The above is only a suggested route, visitors can adjust the itinerary according to their own ability or needs

Enjoy all the 11 artworks displayed on Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island in one day, with the views of the mountains and the sea. This route includes hiking.

Suggested Route
  1. Sai Kung to Yim Tin Tsai (around 20 minutes kaito ride) - may take the island hopping kaito departing from Sai Kung Pier at 10:15 or 11:15
  2. Visit Yim Tin Tsai, view the artworks and attractions (2-3 hours)
  3. Yim Tin Tsai to Sharp Island (around 15 minutes kaito ride) - may take the island hopping kaito departing from Yim Tin Tsai Pier to Sharp Island Pier at 12:35 or 13:35 or 14:35
  4. Visit Sharp Island, cross the tombolo at low tide (1hour)
  5. Rest and refreshment (30 min)
  6. Hiking along Sharp Island Country Trail from Kiu Tsui Beach to Hap Mun Bay, enjoy the 10 ceramic artworks along the trail (1 hour)
  7. Return to Sai Kung (around 20 minutes kaito ride) - take the island hopping kaito departing from Hap Mun Bay Pier at 16:45 back to Sai Kung via Kiu Tsui Pier
  8. Back to Sai Kung to visit the artwork located at Sai Kung Waterfront Park (15 min)

Time required: around 7-7.5 hours

  1. Sai Kung to Hap Mun Bay (around 35 minutes kaito ride) - may take the island hopping kaito departing from Sai Kung Pier at 09:45 or 10:45 to Hap Mun Bay Pier via Sharp Island Pier
  2. Hiking along Sharp Island Country Trail from Hap Mun Bay to Kiu Tsui Beach, enjoy the 10 ceramic artworks along the trail (1 hour)
  3. Cross the tombolo at low tide, get back to Kiu Tsui Beach (1 hour)
  4. Rest and refreshment (30 minutes)
  5. Head to Yim Tin Tsai (around 15 minutes kaito ride) - may take the island hopping kaito departing from Sharp Island to Yim Tin Tsai during 12:05-15:05, operating every hour

  7. Return to Sai Kung (around 20 minutes kaito ride)
  8. Back to Sai Kung to visit the artwork located at Sai Kung Watefront Park (15 minutes)

Registration Information

The online registration will be open from 2 Nov (Wed) 10am on a fortnightly basis, for the coming 2-4 weeks upon the system’s update. The registration schedule is as follows:

*Public may register for the programmes and guided tours that are still available for booking from the previous period. Quotas are limited and registration is open on a first-come-first-served basis. For programmes/guided tours that are already full, a waiting list with 20 quotas is available for signing up. If any successful registrants withdraw from the event, notification will be sent to registrants on the waiting list in their order of registration. They will need to confirm the registration within 24 hours upon receipt of the notification to get the place.
