The boat tour will be led by a professional tour guide, who will introduce the geological characteristics of the Sai Kung Volcanic Rock Region. Participants will gather at the Sai Kung New Public Pier to board the boat. The tour starts by passing through Sharp Island to explore the rim rocks of the crater. The tour guide will talk about the formation of the famous Pineapple Bun Rocks and other types of volcanic rocks. Next, the boat will land on High Island and participants may visit the Tin Hau Temple with 300 years of history. The boat journey then continues to the Ung Kong Group. Participants can observe the hexagonal columnar joints and the famous Bluff Island Cave at a close distance when the boat approaches Ung Kong Group. The tour guide will explain the formation of calderas and the reasons behind Hong Kong being established into a Geopark. The last stop of the boat trip is Jin Island to appreciate the Sea Arch, which is one of the “4 famous caves in the East Sea”. The return trip will pass through the Sai Kung inner port, and covers Hebe Haven, High Island Reservoir West Dam, Tai She Wan, etc.

Sai Kung District Community Centre is vigorously promoting livelihood support and building a support network in rural area. By leveraging Sai Kung’s unique natural resources and environment, the Centre is promoting low-carbon themed activities in the district. By developing green skills, it is committed to enhancing community resilience. It also offers a variety of outdoor activities for different groups, promoting green living and ecological conservation concepts.
