Original settlement residing upon Yim Tin Tsai migrated and departed from the island in search for a better ground, the land now became a spectacle for outsiders to glimpse into the world of a once prosperous village.
“Human in a Bottle” is organised as a guided journey on rewinding the villagers’ stories that contribute to the present state of Jade-Girdle Bridge. Characters of ‘Human’ in varying clarities are handed to participants as modular puzzles to create their own bridges amalgamated with artefacts and resources found in situ. These creations document participants’ impression of Yim Tin Tsai after knowing the sacrifices of villagers to compose the current seemingly stable image of the island.
