Cultural and historical walks in Yim Tin Tsai is a collaboration with “Community-based Narratives and Public Experiential Engagement for Cultural and Historical Heritage Conservation and Revitalisation of Yim Tin Tsai, Sai Kung” organised by the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Led by a group of youth storytellers, the aim of these story walks is to introduce the spatial-temporal changes of culture and history of Yim Tin Tsai to the public participants, generating values of village conservation.

Collaborator’s Introduction:
The project “Community-based Narratives and Public Experiential Engagement for Cultural and Historical Heritage Conservation and Revitalisation of Yim Tin Tsai, Sai Kung”, organised by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and funded by the Countryside Conservation Office and Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme, has its funding period set from 1 January 2022 to 30 June 2024.
This project is under the responsibility of the research team from the Geography and Resource Management Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, collaborating with a group of enthusiastic partners to conduct a series of activities, including villager consultations, workshops, and narrative tours, with the goal of preserving cultural heritage and raising awareness of countryside preservation around Hong Kong.
The project has conducted cultural and history story walks in Yim Tin Tsai since 2023 and also recruited students from different universities and post-secondary institutions in Hong Kong to participate in youth storyteller training. Hope that those valuable personal and collective stories from the village will be preserved and relayed to the public by the young generation.
