Over three hundred years ago, the Chan family arrived in Yim Tin Tsai Village, and along with the missionaries, Catholicism also entered this island. Villagers became Catholics and they established a church and a school on this island.

In 2004, with the support of the church, St. Joseph’s Chapel was successfully restored, injecting new vitality into Yim Tin Tsai. This demonstrates the importance of Catholicism to Yim Tin Tsai.

There are different artworks in Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival that echo the Catholic culture of Yim Tin Tsai. The guided tour will lead participants to explore the traces left by Catholicism in Yim Tin Tsai, and experience together the Catholic culture of this island.
