Yim Tin Tsai is a place with a long history that blends Hakka and Catholic cultures. In the past, it served as the stronghold of the Chan family, a prominent Hakka clan. Later, the villagers on the island converted to Catholicism, giving rise to the name “Parishioners Village” for the community, highlighting its unique cultural identity. The rich rural atmosphere, untouched natural landscapes, and abundant cultural heritage stem from the intertwining of nature and humanity. Inspired by the cultural heritage of this place, artists have created numerous outstanding artworks.
The Yim Tin Tsai Arts Festival showcases the local culture and scenery through art, contributing to the revitalisation of Yim Tin Tsai since 2019. This docent tour introduces the artworks from the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival in 2022 and 2023, allowing participants to explore the diverse facets of Yim Tin Tsai and discover the captivating cultural charm unique to this place.
Note: Please bring along a cable headset (3.5 mm audio cable) to connect with audio guide equipment. If you don’t have one, you can borrow a sterilised headset on the day of the event.
