A group of children and parents slowly wandered around the artworks, rolling the stone balls at will, listening to the wonderful music, and reading the stories from the villagers engraved on the artwork.
Participants will paint the stories of the villagers and create a drawing together, which will become a chessboard for participants to share and play with each other afterwards. They can also enjoy the fun moment acting as students to experience the happiest time in school.
Collaborator’s Introduction:
Ms Cheung has been passionate about drawing to express her inner world since child (dyslexia made it difficult for her to learn and concentrate). She often pays attention to the things around and creates her own imagination. Graphics, colors and images are her inspiration for painting. On the contrary, she is resistant to words, so she uses images to express emotions.
She has been engaged in art education for 8 years after graduating from middle school. She encourages students to use different media and materials to create works. She has come across with SEN students and hopes that they can build team spirit and self-confidence by creating art with their classmates. Currently, she participates in different international public painting and electronic painting competitions and has won various awards. She hopes to regain the confidence and drawing skills from participating in the competitions and to encourage her students to challenge themselves and build their own art log.
In order to know more about inclusive arts and expressive arts therapy, Ms Cheung participated in the Maiyi Course (Visual Arts and Performing Arts) of Hong Kong Disabled Arts and participated in HKEXAT EXARTEERS, a volunteering training. She has become a senior volunteer and leading the 2nd volunteer activities. In addition, she also works as a disabled artist in Hong Kong Disabled Arts, so she can shine on the art stage now.
