Ken Lo
I have been living in Sai Kung district for over 30 years. Whenever I want to get away from the busy city, I go to Sai Kung town. Sai Kung town is a place that lets you slow down and relax. I have many sweet memories there with my wife.
Sai Kung Pier is always the first stop when I visit. It is not only a hub for travelling to nearby islands, but also a lively gathering place, full of vibrant energy. Whether as the starting point of a journey or warmly welcoming every visitor, the pier plays an important role. The pier is not only the starting point of a journey, but also the perfect place to welcome visitors and take photos. I want to say “Hi!” to all the visitors and give them a big hug. I hope this iconic and loving artwork will become the focus where people gather and create beautiful moments together.
Ken Lo
Ken Lo is the founder and design director of the reputable design studio, BLOW in Hong Kong. He has been active in creating personal artworks and participating in design projects for many years, and has won over 120 awards in major international and local design competitions. Ken was also winner of the Hong Kong landmark “Eye-On Victoria – Call for Victoria Harbour Icon Design” competition (2011). In 2015, he curated his project “More Hugs by Ken Lo”, using hugs to bring out the concept of zero distance between people – living in harmony regardless of skin colour, religion, and opinion — so as to promote positive messages of love and peace. Works of the project have been taken on tour to the Netherlands and Shanghai.
