  • What is Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival?

    The “Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival” (the Arts Festival) is a three-year arts project organised by Tourism Commission, supported by Hong Kong Geopark and curated by One Bite Design Studio. To leverage the successful integration of arts with the island under the first edition the Yim Tin Tsai Arts Festival, the new edition of the Arts Festival will extend to the vast Sai Kung Hoi, with Yim Tin Tsai as the centre and reaching out to Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau and High Island. Through art, the Festival will allow visitors an opportunity to appreciate the rich natural resources and the long and deep history as well as culture of the four isles in Sai Kung Hoi. Through the Arts Festival, themed as “Joy Again, Isle”, visitors would meet, connect, experience the healing power of arts and nature through visits to the isles; and enjoy the fun of art tour through island hopping.

  • When is the exhibition period of Sai Kung Hoi Festival?

    The second year of the Arts Festival will be held from 15 November 2023 to 14 January 2024 After this year’s event, some of the artworks will be retained as regular exhibits for continuous appreciation by visitors. The Festival dates for 2024 will be announced later.

  • Where is Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival hosting at?

    Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival 2023 is hosting on four islands in Sai Kung, including Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau and High Island, together with artwork and programmes in Sai Kung town.

  • Do I need to pay for any fee to visit Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival?

    All artworks, programmes and guided tours of Sai King Hoi Arts Festival are open for visitors to attend without any charge. Visitors will need to buy their own kaito tickets to visit the islands and participate in the registered activities.

  • Do I need to pre-register to join the events of Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival?

  • When can I register for programmes and guided tours?

    The online registration will be open from 1 Nov (Wed) 10am on a fortnightly basis, for the coming 2-4 weeks upon the system’s update. The registration schedule is as follows:

    Notes:

    1. To allow sufficient time to explore the islands and to travel across islands, public is suggested not to register for more than one guided tour per visit day. Please check the festival’s kaito and programme/ guided tours schedules to plan ahead before registering for multiple programmes.
    2. Public can register for the programmes and guided tours that are opened earlier if seats are still available. Quotas are limited and are registered on a first-come-first-served basis.
    3. In case a participant is unable to attend the event after registration, the participant should cancel the registration via the online registration platform. Otherwise, the participant may be forbidden to register for any other events organised by the organiser.
    4. If there are spare quotas on the day of the event, visitors may sign up the event on site at Sai Kung Information Kiosk.

  • Does Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival accept group booking for programmes?

    Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival (SKHAF) allows groups to have the privilege to do early group bookings. The online registration will be open from 18 Oct (Wed) to 31 Oct (Tue) 6pm for early group bookings of the guided tours on 4 islands from 22 Nov to 14 Jan.

    SKHAF curatorial team owns the final decision on accepting or rejecting any application, and may review the group visit guidelines subject to the festival’s operations. Visiting groups who are unsuccessful in registering for the guided tours via group prior booking are welcome to purchase island hopping kaito tickets from our website and visit the arts festival on their own.

    Notes:
    Registered groups shall arrive at the meet up point at least 15 minutes earlier to ensure prompt start of the guided tour. The curatorial team owns the final decision on rejecting late comers to join the registered guided tour and will make suitable arrangements based on the condition on site.

  • Is there any age limitation to join the programmes of Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival?

    Most of the programmes of Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival have no age limitation. Visitors are recommended to learn more details before making online registration and choose the suitable programmes based on their physical condition.

  • Can I cancel the programme booking?

    To cancel the booking, participants can select “Ticketing” from the e-ticket in the programme confirmation email and click “Cancel Ticket” at least 3 days prior to the programme, or notify the organiser via email to make changes. Please email to info@skhartsfestival.hk to cancel your booking.

  • What if I lost the programme confirmation email?

    In case the email containing the registration confirmation QR code is accidentally deleted, please provide your email address and other related information to the Arts Festival Ambassadors for checking.

    Visitors can pre-purchase Island Hopping kaito Experience tickets online, or go to Sai Kung pier to take the kaito to Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau and High Island.   • How to reserve tickets for island hopping kaito experience?

    Visitors may reserve tickets for the Island Hopping kaito Experience at Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival official website. Island Hopping kaito tickets are available from the sales open date until 1 day before the departure date. There are no on-date sales available. Please plan ahead and book the tickets in advance.   • How much is the ticket for island hopping kaito experience?

    The price for the Island Hopping kaito Experience between Sai Kung, Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island is HKD100 each; and the price for the Island Hopping kaito Experience between Sai Kung, Kau Sai Chau and High Island is HKD160 each.

  • Can I request for change or refund for the island hopping kaito experience tickets?

    Except during the circumstances that the Festival is closed or kaito services are suspended, tickets for the Island Hopping kaito Experience are non-changeable and non-refundable.
