Surf ski is a type of kayak that can be competed in open water or in big waves condition, which is usually harder to control than the normal recreational used kayak and have a faster speed. The body of the kayak used open design and has water drainage device. The tail of the kayak is controlled by the pedal which make surf ski able to be operated under big wind and waves condition. Under the supervision of professional coaches, beginners can have a chance to try this competitive type of kayaking now!
This programme not only can provide you with professional surf ski experience to get some sweats, participants may also enjoy the unique geology of Sai Kung Hoi and the beautiful scenery of blue sky and oasis. You can also view the island and artworks in the sea from different angles, ideal for visitors who like exploring at their own pace!
Route: Sharp Island (Starts) -> Sharp Island Tombolo (Off shore to appreciate artworks) -> Sharp Island (Ends)

Participants must be able to swim for about 50m wearing lifejacket or buoyancy
Collaborator’s Introduction:
The Centre has started to provide water sports experience to the public since the 1970s and trained a number of Hong Kong and youth kayaking representatives. The Centre’s vision is to provide “professional training, active experience and safe participation” for participants and to promote water sports. In addition, the Centre also provides kayaking guided tours on ecology. These special kayaking tours are led by the professional coaches and tour guides, which not only provide fun experience to the participants, but also aim to promote ecological conservation and water safety.
The online registration will be open from 2 Nov (Wed) 10am on a fortnightly basis, for the coming 2-4 weeks upon the system’s update. The registration schedule is as follows:
