Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival has 9 artworks on both islands. You can visit both islands in one day by the specially designed Island Hopping Kaito Experience.
The following are the suggested island hopping routes:
This route allows you to see all the artworks in Yim Tin Tsai. At Sharp Island, you can see the artwork “Ocean Says” near the Sharp Island pier, 2 – 4 pieces of ceramic artworks of “A Grand Pineapple Bun Tour” near the starting point of the Sharp Island Country Trail from tombolo side, and distant view the artwork “Moonrise in Daylight”, located on the other side of the tombolo, from the area around the pier.
This route allows you to enjoy all the artworks on Sharp Island and Yim Tin Tsai. It takes about 2 hours to hike the full Sharp Island Country Trail (round-trip), and it requires a certain level of physical fitness. Please plan your journey according to your physical conditions, and may plan for a shorter route as appropriate.

Apart from the Island Hopping Kaito Experience, visitors may take kaito provided by other operators to get to Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island. Tickets can be bought at Sai Kung pier on the day. Please note that the kaito services provided by other operators might not offer island hopping arrangements. Visitors may check with individual kaito operators for more details.
Island Hopping Kaito Experience does not include travelling to Hap Mun Bay. Visitors may take kaito to Hap Mun Bay directly with the services provided by other kaito operators. Visitors can then hike to Sharp Island Pier on the Sharp Island Country Trail. Visitors should check with individual kaito operators for the kaito schedules if they wish to take kaito to Hap Mun Bay, but returning to Sai Kung from Sharp Island Pier.
Suggested Visiting Route at Sharp Island
(Not crossing the tombolo: around 3 hours; Crossing the tombolo: around 4 hours)
Visitors can take public transports to Sai Kung town centre, then purchase kaito ferry tickets at Sai Kung Pier to get to Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island.
The kaito ferry tickets can be purchased at the kaito service providers near Sai Kung New Public Pier.
For kaito to Yim Tin Tsai, visitors may purchase tickets at the counter near Hung Kee Seafood Restaurant. The schedule of the kaito ferry service is as follows:

This year, the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival will be launched with Yim Tin Tsai as the centre, and reaching out to Sharp Island. To facilitate visitors for travelling between the two islands, there will be island hopping kaito during the Arts Festival period to let visitors taste the special and exclusive island hopping experience in Hong Kong.
Apart from taking the regular kaito ferry, visitors can also pre-order Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets online (online payment only). Tickets are sold on a first-come-first-served basis with limited quotas.

– When Kaito services are suspended upon announcement of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above, and Red or Black Rainstorm Signal, pre-warning thereof, all tours and programmes will be cancelled.
– If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above, and Red or Black Rainstorm Signal are lowered at or before 8:00am, all tours and programmes will be held as scheduled.
– If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above, and Red or Black Rainstorm Signal are lowered between 8:01am-10:00am, all morning tours and programmes will be cancelled and events after 12nn will be held as scheduled.
– If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above, and Red or Black Rainstorm Signal are lowered between 10:01am-4:00pm, all tours and programmes will be cancelled.
– If there are any suspension of Kaito services under the inclement weather, updates will be disseminated via social media platforms and website.
Preparations before your visit
– Bring a sun cap, an umbrella and a windbreaker to prepare for weather changes.
– Bring enough food and drinks as appropriate, and leave no trace.
– Choose a hiking trail that suits the ability of your fellow hikers.
During your visit
– Please keep your voice down when visiting the Arts Festival.
– Please do not trespass on any private property and avoid causing nuisance to the locals.
– To protect the natural environment, please do not pick plants or disturb wildlife.
– Please keep the environment clean and leave no trace.
– Please cherish the artworks and do not damage them.
– Please maintain appropriate social distancing, wear a mask and maintain good personal hygiene to prevent transmission of diseases.

The “Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival” (the Arts Festival) is a three-year arts project organised by Tourism Commission, supported by Hong Kong Geopark and curated by One Bite Design Studio. To leverage the successful integration of arts with the island under the first edition the Yim Tin Tsai Arts Festival, the new edition of the Arts Festival will extend to the vast Sai Kung Hoi, with Yim Tin Tsai as the centre and reaching out to Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau and High Island. Through art, the Festival will allow visitors an opportunity to appreciate the rich natural resources and the long and deep history as well as culture of the four isles in Sai Kung Hoi. Through the Arts Festival, themed as “Joy Again, Isle”, visitors would meet, connect, experience the healing power of arts and nature through visits to the isles; and enjoy the fun of art tour through island hopping.
The first year of the Arts Festival will be held from 16 November 2022 to 15 January 2023. After this year’s event, some of the artworks will be retained as regular exhibits for continuous appreciation by visitors. The Festival dates for 2023-2024 will be announced later.
In 2022, Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival is hosting at Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island, the two islands at Sai Kung. In 2023 and 2024, Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival will extend the joyful art journey to Kau Sai Chau and High Island.
Visitors should take the kaito at Sai Kung Pier to get to Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island. Kaito tickets can be purchased at the kaito service providers near the Sai Kung New Public Pier.

All artworks, programmes and guided tours of Sai King Hoi Arts Festival are open for visitors to attend without any charge. Visitors will need to buy their own kaito tickets to visit the islands and participate in the registered activities.
Visitors may reserve tickets for the Island Hopping Kaito Experience at Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival official website. Island Hopping Kaito tickets are available from the sales open date until three days before the departure date. There are no on-date sales available. The price for the Island Hopping Kaito Experience is HKD100 each.
Except during the circumstances that the Festival is closed or kaito services are suspended, tickets for the Island Hopping Kaito Experience are non-changeable and non-refundable.

Most of the programmes of Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival have no age limitation. Visitors are recommended to learn more details before making online registration and choose the suitable programmes based on their physical condition.
Participants should cancel the programme booking via email to notify the organiser at least 3 days prior to the programme date. Please email to info@skhartsfestival.hk to cancel your booking. Please note that the quotas of each programme is limited. If you are unable to attend the programme, please cancel the registration in advance to allow people from the waiting list to take your place.
In case the email containing the registration confirmation QR code is accidentally deleted, please provide your email address and other related information to the Arts Festival Ambassadors for checking.

All participants of programmes and guided tours of Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival must fulfill the Government’s Vaccine Pass requirements, and should present the relevant proof for checking by the staff on the day of the event. For events more than 30 participants, all registered participants must conduct a COVID-19 rapid antigen test and get a negative result on the day of the event, and present the proof for checking by the staff.
All Arts Festival visitors must wear a mask at all times, and comply with the relevant legislation.
Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival will comply with the Government’s latest measures and will continue to review the situation and adjust arrangements accordingly.
The tombolo at Sharp Island is not always accessible. Tombolo is accessible when the tidal level is lower than 1.4 meter. Don’t forget to check on the day tidal levels before crossing the tombolo, observe the safety guidelines and pay attention to the return time. Yim Tin Tsai
Full journey：To visit all artworks and attractions at Yim Tin Tsai will take around 2 hours.
Points to note：The pavement of the travelling routes at Yim Tin Tsai is mostly made of concrete. The route involve flat land, hiking trail and staircases.
Visitors may consider visiting all or part of the artworks/attractions based on their own needs and interests and plan ahead.

Sharp Island
Full journey: To visit all artworks and attractions at Sharp Island will take around 2.5 – 3 hours. One of the artworks spread all over the Sharp Island Country Trail; another artwork is located at Kiu Tau, the other side of the Tombolo, which is only accessible during low tide period. Visitors will need to complete the whole hiking trail and cross the Tombolo during low tide period to visit all artworks.
Points to note: The visiting route at Sharp Island include the Tombolo, Sharp Island Country Trail, gravel road and the beach. Some parts of the route are muddy without any shading. There are also long staircases. Visitors should be careful and plan to route according to their own ability. Visitors should also check the tidal level in advance if they would like to cross the Tombolo.

Programmes and Guided Tours Participants
Participants of programmes and guided tours should arrive Sai Kung Pier to buy kaito tickets and queue for boarding at least 1 hour before the registered programmes/guided tours start to ensure that they can arrive the gathering point on the two islands on time.
Other Points to Note
Visitors will need to decide the departing time from Sai Kung to the two islands. The transit time on kaito from Sai Kung New Public Pier to Yim Tin Tsai or Sharp Island takes around 20 minutes; island hopping between the two island will take around 15 minutes. Visitors should pay attention to the last kaito departing from both islands.
If visitors wish to taste the island hopping travel, they are required to pre-book the Island Hopping Kaito Experience tickets online and plan their trip according to their selected time starting the journey.
